Futuris Episode 6 (2008): "Nuclear Research"

A new generation of nuclear power plants is approaching. By the middle of the 21st century a form of atomic energy may be available that is cheaper, more environmentally friendly and safer than today’s technologies. The European Union supports research in the fields of nuclear efficiency and safety. This video highlights plans to build new reactors: their safety systems will be more passive, relying less on human skills in dangerous situations. The new reactors will also produce less nuclear waste and use a smaller amount of uranium.
