Who will invent the technologies that we will rely on for our future..? The European Commission's Directorate General for Information Society and Media supports the development and use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for the benefit of all citizens. The FET-Open research scheme managed by this DG is a unique European scheme which allows top scientists to bid for collaborative multidisciplinary research funding in a relatively low-cost, low bureaucracy environment. FET-Open operates a bottom-up approach for exploring promising visionary ideas that can contribute to challenges of long term importance for Europe.
