EDEN 2010: Bulgaria

With its untouched nature and beautiful wetlands, the destination of EDEN 2010 in Bulgaria is the Silistra region. Located on the bird migration route between Europe and Africa, visitors can hike and explore the unspoiled UNESCO world heritage site that was shaped by the delicate Danube river. The European Destinations of Excellence – EDEN - is a project promoting sustainable tourism development models across the European Union. In 2010, 25 tourist destinations across Europe were awarded with the EDEN title of ‘European Destination of Excellence in Aquatic Tourism’.
